Key Features 7M 0811 / Fiberglass Panel Adhesive:
- Made specifically for bonding SMC to FRP or metal panels.
- Can be used for bonding metal to metal.
- Very good sag resistance.
- Can be cured at room temperature.
- Provides OEM finish.
- Takes approximately 30 minutes to apply and 24 hours to fully cure.
Two part epoxy used to bond metal, aluminum, SMC, and FRP. – Primary use is to replace “composite” rocker panels, quarter panels, roof panels, cab corners, box sides, van sides, utility vehicle sides and door skins. – Cures on demand with addition of heat gun.
Glass Micro beads work as built in spacers for optimum weld like thickness and performance.
It efficiently bonds SMC and FRP panels to each other and is also effective for bonding Plastics, Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics and SMC to metal too.
What is a Hybrid Adhesive
7M Epoxy hybrid adhesive formulations have enabled unmodified epoxy systems to offer enhanced capabilities such as improved flexibility/elongation, impact/thermal cycling resistance, peel strength, long term durability.
These desirable properties have been achieved by blending the epoxy resin with other polymeric resins. Liquid/paste hybrid adhesive epoxy-urethane and epoxy-polysulfide compositions are employed for structural bonding of similar/dissimilar substrates and exhibit characteristics only obtainable through a combination of resin families.
These 7M products overcome the shortcomings of conventional epoxy system modification that incorporate flexibilizers/tougheners, fillers/extenders, promoters to extend their usability in industrial Automotive assembly applications.
